National Migration Conference Advocacy Day - July 30, 2008
Meet with your Senators and Congressional Representatives and make a difference in the public policy response to newcomers to our nation!
On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, conference organizers are offering participants an unprecedented opportunity to get up close and personal with U.S. senators and representatives from their home state.
The day will include a visit to the U.S. Capitol, a presentation by a member of Congress, opportunities to learn about legislative advocacy and meetings with legislators.

Please indicate in your registration application whether you would like to become a State Captain. State Captains are responsible for organizing state delegations to visit their Senators and Representatives. This is a critical role that helps bring focus to the issues that each state delegation wishes to bring to the attention of their Congressional members.
Participants will advocate on several policy issues impacting migrants, immigrants, refugees, unaccompanied minors, and victims of human trafficking. The specifics of these issues will be developed in the coming weeks.
Remember: Many of those we serve do not have a voice in Congress, so they depend on us to be their advocates and catalysts for positive change in our federal laws and policies. Won’t you help renew hope and seek justice on Capitol Hill by participating in Advocacy Day on July 30?
